Women of Color STEM Awards to Recognize 16 Actalent Engineering and Science Consultants for Outstanding Professional Contributions

Recipients will be recognized for significant career achievements and shaping the future of STEM

Hanover, Md. (Sept. 28, 2023) – Actalent, a leading engineering and sciences services and talent solutions company, today announced that 15 of its consultants will receive the Technology Rising Star Award and one consultant will receive the Technology All-Star award at the 2023 Women of Color (WOC) STEM DTX Conference on October 12-14, 2023 in Detroit. The awards honor women's achievements in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers. Award nominations were submitted by Actalent team members to recognize consultants for outstanding contributions to their workplaces, communities and fields as a whole.

Award recipients were selected by a panel of judges who determined the list of winners from a talented pool of promising college students, new hires, mid-career professionals and managers, C-suite executives, innovators, inventors and change agents. The Technology All-Star Award recognizes accomplished women of color that have demonstrated excellence in the workplace and in their communities. The Technology Rising Star Award recognizes women who are helping to shape technology for the future.

In addition to receiving the awards, several Actalent experts will participate in panels during the event on topics including leadership, communication, industry trends, and more.

Now in its 28^th year, the Women of Color STEM Conference, hosted by Career Communications Group (CCG), brings together STEM leaders from Fortune 500 companies, government entities, colleges and universities to recognize the achievements of women in STEM careers. The theme of this year’s event is "Waves of Change, Oceans of Opportunity" with the sub-focus, "The AI Renaissance: Empowering Women and Transforming the Future." The three-day conference will illuminate the breakthrough AI advancements impacting the STEM sector and the critical contributions women are making in the rapidly progressing area of AI innovation and adoption.

It will feature a special awards ceremony to honor women from a myriad of backgrounds who have overcome obstacles, paved new ways towards success, and have spent time mentoring and nurturing the next generation of STEM leaders. This is the third consecutive year Actalent consultants have been recognized at the conference. In 2022, seven Actalent consultants earned the Technology Rising Star award, and two consultants earned the Technology All-Star award.
