Richard D’Amato

Head of Data Sciences

Richard D’Amato is a seasoned data sciences and clinical development leader with more than 34 years of experience across pharmaceutical companies, Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and third-party vendors. He brings deep end-to-end expertise in clinical development, with a strong focus on data sciences including biostatistics, statistical programming, data management, real-world evidence (RWE) and data engineering.

He has spent 28 years in leadership roles managing global teams, client accounts, financial operations and complex clinical programs, including ISS/ISE submissions. Richard also has extensive experience overseeing Functional Service Provider (FSP) models and has worked closely with medical writing and regulatory teams to deliver high-quality, submission-ready outputs that meet regulatory expectations.

A key strength throughout his career is his focus on innovation and automation in data sciences. He has developed a range of production-ready tools and applications — including R Shiny web apps, AI/LLM-enabled solutions, clinical bidding and tracking tools and automated program builders for datasets and TLFs — that are widely used to improve efficiency, standardization and data quality.
