Actalent’s Andrew Bordine to Share Integrated Utility Project Delivery Strategies at 2026 UTC Telecom & Technology Conference
Actalent’s Head of Grid Automation will speak alongside Alabama Power’s Trey Hayes on how utilities can better align distribution and telecom workflows
Hanover, Md. (May 28, 2026) – Actalent Services, a global leader in engineering and sciences services, is pleased to announce that Andrew Bordine, head of Actalent’s Grid Automation practice, will present at the 2026 Utilities Technology Council (UTC) Telecom & Technology Conference on June 4 at 9:10 a.m. CT.
Bordine, joined by Trey Hayes, Director of Grid Investment & Connectivity at Alabama Power, will co-present, “Partners in Performance: Bridging Distribution and Telecom Projects,” which will explore how energy utilities can develop a unified project delivery strategy, combining Distribution and Telecom initiatives — two traditionally segmented business units — into a single, coordinated workflow.
“As utilities face growing pressure to deliver increasingly complex capital projects in shorter timelines, historically siloed delivery models have become unsustainable,” said Bordine. “By aligning planning, design and construction efforts, utilities can reduce overhead, improve project visibility and maximize the value of their infrastructure investments.”
Attendees will gain practical insight into key outputs of a unified delivery model, including integrated planning maps, joint design packages, consolidated construction schedules, coordinated resource allocations and unified reporting dashboards for tracking costs, milestone progress and regulatory compliance. Bordine and Hayes will also showcase how cross-functional collaboration and digital tools, including GIS-integrated design platforms and automated reporting engines, can support both operational and executive decision-making.
Actalent’s Grid Automation practice provides customized solutions for everything from new construction for both wired and wireless technologies to legacy asset replacement involving generation, transmission and distribution. The team, composed of diverse technical talent with proven experience, combines a wealth of utility industry knowledge and expertise with the application of modern telecom technology and protocols.
Actalent is a silver sponsor of the UTC Telecom & Technology Conference. Attendees can visit the Actalent booth (#722) at the Minneapolis Convention Center from June 1-4.
